Electrified Double Tracking Project Between Subang Jaya and Terminal Skypark was funded by the Government through Ministry of Transport to provide rail based public transport especially to connect the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (SAAS) Airport Terminal and the vicinity area with the existing railway network.
The proposed project will be mainly based on the current Klang Valley electrified double tracking system which provides the existing commuter services.
The proposed Sri Subang branch line commence from Batu Caves – Pelabuhan Klang Main Line take off point at Km 17.37 of Subang Jaya – Batu Tiga section with a total route length of 8.157km and terminated at Terminal Skypark Station which is located in front of existing Terminal 3, SAAS Airport.
The above project involves 25kV Overhead Catenary System, Modern Signalling and Communication System and also integration with the existing Centralised Train Control (CTC) at KL Sentral. It was envisaged that the shuttle service for commuter will run between Terminal Skypark and KL Sentral once the project completed.
The services could be integrated with the future LRT Extension Project at Subang Jaya Station once both the project completed.
Generally, the above project consists of two main section ie. at grade section in between Subang Jaya and Sri Subang for the length of 4.09km using the existing railway reserve and also the elevated section in between Sri Subang and Terminal Skypark for the total length of 4.067km which is along the existing Sungai Damansara river reserve.
It will involves the construction of one terminal station ie. Terminal Skypark Station at Ch 8000 with the provision of side platform at 150 m length.
Future halt development was also identified at Glenmarie Halt (Ch1975) and Sri Subang Halt (Ch4625) but the implementation of the halt is subject to the demand from the public once the project completed. The proposed alignment is shown as part of the display
COMMENCEMENT : 21 FEBRUARY 2013
COMPLETION : 20 FEBRUARY 2016
To provide the rail based public transport to the public especially to the passenger of Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport and the vicinity areas and connect with the existing Klang Valley rail network. As such, the passenger can be connected to Kuala Lumpur International Airport Sepang via rail through interchange point at KL Sentral. It will provide environmental friendly based services which indirectly reduce the existing road congestion and also increasing the usage of public transport from the public with the better and more comprehensive railway network mainly KTMB, LRT and MRT.
